Summer of The Lockdown

My newest release is a reflection on the ups and downs of a summer in isolation. I wanted the music to sound like it was dragging through sand in a desert, I wanted it to sound like heat exhaustion. The ups and downs of the song are supposed to represent the way many of us felt during that summer: hopeful, but tired, and lonely.

During the summer of 2019, I didn’t see my family at all. We were completely apart, except for a guitar that my dad had let me borrow before the lockdown started. Having that guitar was like having a piece of home with me, and one of the reasons I wanted to include a guitar solo at the end - something I had never done before.
